Sweetie and the Flag again. Oh and his bike too. :)

It was VERY still Saturday morning. The flag was still also.

Velvet Ants

We also saw these velvet ants while on a biking break. They were colored brilliantly I thought. I took pictures of them and put these slides together to try and show the close-ups. Click on the images to get a larger view of the slides. If you are as intrigued by these little guys as I was, you can read an article about them here: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/velvet_ants.html or http://www.desertusa.com/mag01/feb/papr/ant.html

Reflections

I don't remember ever seeing parts of the Tennessee River calm enough to catch reflections like this. I probably just never paid enough attention.

Spending Time Biking

James and I have gotten in 50 plus miles on our bikes since Friday.
I never pass up an opportunity to include the US Flag in pictures.

Beautiful Continued

Shady resting areas, nice views and the half way mark.

We ride this next leg along the Tennessee River twice in order to get up to 13 miles or more.

We live in a BEAUTIFUL City : )

James and Jordan recently bought bicycles. James rides his daily and for the past two weeks he and I have ridden the whole Aldridge Creek Greenway to equal 13.25 or more miles. It is a great ride. We live in a beautiful City. It is going to take several posts for me to share all that I want to share as I try to keep my mind off of Jordan going off to college tomorrow. :(

Recipe for Lucy

Click on the image of the recipe to make it bigger.
I always used to (when James could have carbs. He LOVED this recipe) double or triple this recipe. I never have Buttermilk. My Southern Living Cookbook says to substitute 1TBSP Lemon Juice or vinegar plus enough regular milk to equal 1 cup for every 1 cup of buttermilk the recipe calls for.
